Paul Kalkbrenner is one of the techno scene’s most glamorous figures. Even before everyone watched “Berlin Calling” in which Paul Kalkbrenner plays a drugged up techno DJ, which made him famous over night, he made quite an impact.Yet, these days, the crowd’s ecstatic even before the first beat is played. And Kalkbrenner’s reaction? He’s bending over his controls, dreamy in a way, moving back and forth, smiling, and sometimes, as if he was in a trance, slowly raising his fist in the air. Every move is answered with frenetic cheers as if he could no longer make any mistakes. His interaction with the crowd couldn’t be more smoothly.
